German carmaker Opel has unveiled the new diesel-powered seven-seater Zafira Tourer, which is claimed to be the fastest of all variants in the carmaker’s compact van segment.

The van is powered by a 2.0 CDTI BiTurbo engine that generates an output of 195hp and 400Nm of torque, while consuming 5.6L fuel per 100km.

Opel Unveils Diesel-Powered Zafira Tourer Van

According to the German carmaker, the new van can sprint from zero-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds, while achieve a top speed ranging between 80 km/h and 120 km/h in 8.5 seconds in fifth gear.

The new BiTurbo technology is aimed at offering high power output, an instant throttle response and enhanced pulling power from a broad torque plateau.

Features of the new Zafira Tourer include the new generation Flex7 system that comprises an improved lounge seating functions aimed at offering passengers an improved space in the second row.

Expected to go on sale in April 2013, Zafira Tourer is also offered with powertrain options including, four diesel and four gasoline engines, in addition to an LPG and a CNG Turbo variant.
